The familiar route up the M6, M74 and A702 to Edinburgh at the end of the week (I will walk it one day) but where shall we go next? Two books I have provide inspiration: one on the Lincoln Highway (Times Square to San Francisco) and one called ‘Around Australia on Highway One’. Other alternatives that appeal are taking the bus to Australia and the Trans Siberian Railway. Why does work get in the way?
